On Wednesday, August 12th, I was shocked to come home and discover that my cat, Nanners, was pregnant and in the process of giving birth. It was then that I learned that most online resources for birthing and caring for kittens were pretty poor. It seemed to me that a lot of them were cribbed from other sources, or crapped out by someone on Mechanical Turk going for $1 per hundred word writing commission. No, jackass, you can't cite the National Geographic documentary you saw on lions last year as a source on domestic housecat behavior.
This blog is not intended to be a definitive, or even a very informative, guide. I'm just going to document my experiences from birth until the point where I've given the kittens away. Someone will be in my shoes at some point, and a more personal guide written from the perspective of a first time catdad might be helpful.
So here we go.
